Approximately 45 minute presentation on the capabilities of the 42nd Civil Support Team (WMD).
The 42nd CST is a rapid response team to WMD events, here in North Caorlina or anywhere in the United
States.
We consist of 22 active duty Army and Air Force personnel and are federally funded.
The presentation goes into some detail concerning the team’s make-up, its equipment, and how to request this vital asset to respond.
We always stress that we augment the civil authorities on-scene; we do not take control of the scene.
The entire team is trained to the HAZMAT Technician level and what sets us apart is that we can take a sample into our mobile lab, analyze it and in a short amount of time, give that analysis to the IC.
The IC can then determine how to best deal with the situation, how to mitigate it, how to clean it up, and how to treat anyone who was exposed.
We also explain the robust communications capability and technical expertise that we can provide for the IC.
